Age requirements
In Canada, play only if you are 19 or older, or 18 or older in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Dominion Black’s own rule sets the minimum at 18, or higher wherever the local age of majority comes later, and a banner on its site reminds visitors that it is meant for adults.
Nobody under the legal age may use the casino. When you register an account, you confirm your age with a checkbox, and the casino can later ask for identity documents during account verification. You are responsible, too, for confirming that online play is permitted where you live, as the casino’s main rules point out.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is a voluntary block on your play that can last anywhere between one month and five years. There is no button for it on the Dominion Black site: you contact support by live chat or e-mail in the casino’s support section and say how long the block should last.
- Once it is in place, the block is binding and cannot be reversed.
- For the whole period, you cannot log in to your account.
- You cannot open a new account either: an attempt to do so gets your original account closed for good and banned.
Choose the length with care. Self-exclusion cannot be shortened or lifted early, so pick a period you are sure about.
If you want to stop for good, you can also ask support to close your account at any time. Closing it brings your contractual relationship with the casino to a full stop, which is a different step from a time-limited break.
Playing within your limits
Dominion Black describes its approach to responsible gambling as a set of measures meant to prevent harm and to support players who need it. Its page recommends these habits, which you keep yourself:
- Decide on a deposit limit before you start, and play only with money you can afford to lose.
- Never chase losses. Play for fun, not as a way to earn money.
- Set a time limit for each session.
- Take a break whenever you feel tired.
- Do not play when you are stressed or feeling depressed, or after alcohol, drugs or medication.
- Keep to one account per person.
Playing for real money means accepting that you can lose what you deposit. The casino’s page also treats gambling addiction as a serious medical condition. If play starts taking more time or money than you planned, treat that as a reason to pause rather than to push on.
Protecting minors
Dominion Black’s page includes a section on protecting minors, and its advice is practical. Keep your login and password where children cannot find them, and use internet filters or parental-control software on devices that children can reach.
On a shared computer or phone, it also helps to log out after each session and not to let the browser save your password.
Getting help
Dominion Black’s own responsible gambling section, linked as Play Responsibly in the footer of its site, is the first place to look for its guidance. For personal help, contact the support team, free of charge, by live chat or e-mail through the casino’s support section. Both channels are described in our support guide.
According to the casino’s page, it does not hand personal information to outside parties without your clear consent. Short answers on accounts, payments and safer play are collected in our frequently asked questions.
Questions and answers
Can I cancel self-exclusion before it ends?
No. Once support has applied it, self-exclusion is binding and cannot be reversed, whether you chose one month or five years. During that time you cannot log in or open another account, so settle on a length you are comfortable with before you ask.
How can I keep children away from my casino account?
Keep your login and password somewhere children cannot reach, and install internet filters or parental-control software on shared devices. Logging out after each session and not letting the browser store your password also help, especially on a family computer or tablet.
What happens if I open a new account while self-excluded?
The casino closes your original account permanently and bans it. During self-exclusion you can neither log in nor register again, and the rule of one account per person applies at all times.
Will anyone else learn that I asked for help?
The casino says that personal details you give it are not passed on to outside parties unless you clearly agree. Help from its support team is free, and the team is reachable by live chat or e-mail through the casino’s support section.
How is self-exclusion different from closing my account?
Self-exclusion is a block of one month to five years that cannot be lifted early. Closing your account, which you can also ask support to do at any time, terminates the relationship with the casino instead of pausing it.
