Two tournaments, one weekly rhythm

Dominion Black’s two tournaments sit at opposite ends of the week. Warmup is the early one, opening at 1 pm on Monday and closing at midnight on Tuesday; Lucky Weekend is the late one, held over the weekend. On those times the two do not overlap, and each pays out from a prize pool of its own.

That weekly rhythm is our reading of the dates, not a promise. The six entries we have seen listed come round exactly one week apart, yet the tournament page never uses the word weekly, so go by the dates on each listing.

Every one of the six is scored on the sum of bets, but the casino’s tournament system can also rank players by total winnings, by the ratio of a win to its bet or by the number of bets, so check the format on any new listing rather than assuming it. Our guide to Dominion Black tournaments covers the basics, such as entering without a minimum deposit.

How points add up

Dominion Black scores both tournaments on stakes alone, and the casino’s one worked example gives 5 points for a 5 CAD bet. If every bet converts at that one-for-one rate, three sessions with very different spin sizes end on the same score:

Stake per spinSpinsTotal stakedPoints, by the casino’s example
1 CAD5050 CAD50
2 CAD2550 CAD50
5 CAD1050 CAD50

So the spin size sets the pace, not the value: 50 CAD of stakes is 50 points whether it takes ten spins or fifty. A higher place on the leaderboard simply means a larger total staked.

Tournament play also feeds the Dominion Black loyalty program, because both count the same slot bets: each one adds Comp Points and Shop Points, the latter at half rate when the stake is bonus money, as our article on earning and losing Shop Points explains.

Prize pools and places

Dominion Black pays both prize pools in bonus money, but the two ladders have different shapes. Lucky Weekend has 200 CAD more to share and one paid place fewer, six against Warmup’s seven, so its top prizes are larger: first place takes 300 CAD, about 43% of the 700 CAD pool, while the Warmup winner takes 200 CAD, or 40% of 500 CAD.

In fact, Lucky Weekend’s runner-up receives as much as the Warmup winner. Lower down, the ladders meet: fourth place is worth 50 CAD in both, and every place from fifth down pays 25 CAD, with three such places in Warmup and two in Lucky Weekend.

Whichever place you reach, the prize arrives after the tournament closes, and the listings give no wagering figure for it. Until you know its terms, treat it like any other bonus: play it on slots, the only games that clear bonus wagering, and keep away from live games, which remove active bonuses. Our plain-language guide to bonus terms explains the rest.

Joining, leaving and keeping your points

Entry to both Dominion Black tournaments works the same way: log in or register, then press Take part. The confirmation you see after joining is what tells you to start playing slots, and nothing in the listings says that bets placed before joining count, so join first and spin afterwards.

The leaderboard refreshes every 5 minutes, which matters most near the close. The table you see in the final minutes may not yet show other players’ latest bets, so a place that looks safe may already be gone. Raising your stakes to defend it means betting on information that is out of date.

Leaving is the one move that costs points. Pressing Quit the tournament and then Yes, leave erases your score, and rejoining starts you from zero, so the later you quit, the more you give up. If you only want to stop for a while, there is nothing to press: the rules tie the loss of points to quitting, not to a pause in play.

Treat a tournament as a scoreboard for play you had already planned, not a reason to spend more. Points follow stakes, so your spending limit is also the ceiling on your score.

Questions and answers

Can I take part in Warmup and Lucky Weekend in the same week?

Nothing in the listings rules it out, and the timing allows it: Warmup runs from 1 pm on Monday to midnight on Tuesday and Lucky Weekend on the weekend, so the two do not overlap. You join each one separately with its own Take part button.

Does a winning spin add tournament points?

No. Both tournaments use the sum-of-bets format, so points come from the amount you stake on each spin, win or lose; the casino’s example gives 5 points for a 5 CAD bet. A win adds to your balance, while your place on the leaderboard depends on stakes alone.

Which slots count toward Warmup and Lucky Weekend?

No particular games are named: the game list was empty on all six entries we have seen, and the message you get after joining just says to play slots. Other game types are not mentioned, so choose from the Dominion Black slot lobby while you play for points.
